About Us

Just two baddies from South Cackalacky having their way! We Talk Back is a guide to femininity with thought provoking conversations about sex, relationships, and culture. TamBam and AJ Holiday give their listeners nonprofessional guidance, delivering advice and their personal touch on real life shit.

Meet Tamela Bowen

If Tamela Bowen could have it her way … she would like to live in a world with free healthcare, true democracy, free cannabis for all, men have periods while chocolate and money falls from the sky.

Tamela Bowen is a South Carolina native born and raised in Columbia. She’s a proud HBCU graduate from The Illustrious Benedict college.

As a master cosmologist and Make-up Artist for well over 10 years she has been coined the “head doctor” (aht aht!!! Get your mind out of the gutter!) She makes her clients feel beautiful on the outside and they leave her with an elevated head space and spirit due to her witty banter and positive energy. She’s now channeling this energy to the Podcast World and has a lot to say. She Talks Back!!

Meet AJ Holiday

Free spirited, smart, and confident Charleston, SC native Ashley James, who prefers to go by her initials AJ, lives to say what some wouldn’t dare! Growing up in a household full of black women experiencing life, as the youngest of 3 sisters along with her hardworking “single-married” mom, AJ learned early that “swift wits get you out of shit quick!”

As a former marketing corporate business consultant turned serial entrepreneur and “struggle meal” connoisseur, AJ now owns and operates Trap Veggie, a vegan/vegetarian food truck.

Although she does not have a PhD in psychology, tough love buffered by humor, AJ has always been her friends go to for relationship advice. Her approach to love, life and relationships are very much unorthodox. Helping women find their voice while encouraging them to always ask for what they want is just one of her life’s passions displayed on the “We Talk Back” podcast.
